Modernization of the lighting system in Polack started this April; after four months, 672 LED lights, 131 poles, 5 automatic control boxes, and 12.7 km of wires have been already installed in 9 streets: Bahdanoviča, Kastryčnickaya, Valohina, Kasmanaŭtaŭ, Jubilejnaja, Nižniepakroŭskaja, P. Broŭki, Haharyna, E. Polackaj. Seven city memorials now have new decorative lights, while lighting installation works on a bridge across the Dvina will be over by the end of this week.

It is planned that by the end of September, Polack will receive new energy efficient lighting that will help the city to save electricity (≈ 265 MWh per year) and reduce CO2 emissions (≈ 120 tons per year).

Modernization of public lighting takes place within PubLiCity project that is funded by the European Union under the EU4Energy initiative. The project is implemented by Polack Executive Committee and Interakcia Foundation.
