The town of Dubno starts refurbishment of its teaching and educational complex “General educational institution – pre-school educational institution” (TEC “GEI-PEI”). That is one of the four educational institutions refurbished by the town thanks to the European Union’s support within the initiative “Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects”.

On July 14, 2021 the Department of Education of Dubno Town Council concluded the Agreement on comprehensive refurbishment of the building of TEC “GEI-PEI” with “Renome-Yevrobud” Ltd. – the winning bidder. The works will start after the permission for their commencement is obtained.

The building of the educational institution was erected in 1985. The building consists of 4 two-storeyed blocks (sections) connected with each other by the one-storeyed central part and having a basement. Only current repairs were conducted in the premises over the period of its operation.

Under the design and estimate documentation, external walls, the attic and the plinth will be insulated in the premises, old windows and entrance doors will be replaced with new ones, with triple-pane windows made of energy-saving glass. Besides that, it is intended to refurbish the heating and lighting systems, to install a mechanical combined extract-and-input system with waste heat recovery, to reconstruct the roof, to arrange roof drainage and the pavement, to do repairs of the structural elements of the staircase to the basement and emergency exits of the buildings.

Thanks to these activities 670 children and 69 staff members will stay in more comfortable temperature conditions.

After the implementation of energy-efficient activities improvement of the microclimate in the teaching and educational institution is expected. In the winter period, the temperature in the premises will meet the norm, since heat will not “leak” from the premises. Thanks to the ventilation system air circulation will always be ensured in the rooms.
